The BEST High Volume Foods for Weight Loss 🍿
When it comes to weight loss, one of the biggest challenges people face is managing hunger while reducing calorie intake. This is where high volume foods come into play. These foods are typically low in calories but high in water or fiber content, allowing you to eat a satisfying portion without consuming too many calories. In this article, we will explore some of the best high volume foods for weight loss that can help you feel full, satisfied, and on track to achieve your health goals.
1. Vegetables: The Ultimate Low-Calorie Food
Vegetables are the cornerstone of any healthy weight loss diet. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, yet low in calories. Leafy greens, like spinach and kale, are especially potent due to their high water content and low caloric density. Other great choices include:
- Cucumbers: With about 16 calories per cup, cucumbers are refreshing and hydrating.
- Zucchini: This versatile vegetable can be spiralized into noodles or used in stir-fries, providing roughly 19 calories per cup.
- Bell Peppers: Crunchy and sweet, bell peppers are low in calories (about 24 per cup) and high in nutrients.
2. Fruits: Satisfying Sweet Tooth Cravings
Fruits are not only delicious but also come packed with water and fiber. They can satisfy your sweet cravings without breaking your calorie bank. Some of the best high volume fruits include:
- Berries: Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries are relatively low in calories and high in antioxidants. They are approximately 50-80 calories per cup.
- Watermelon: This hydrating fruit consists of about 92% water and only 30 calories per cup. Perfect for snacking or as part of a fruit salad!
- Cantaloupe: Another hydrating fruit, cantaloupe contains about 54 calories per cup and is rich in vitamins A and C.
3. Soup: A Warm and Filling Choice
Soups, especially those made from broth and loaded with vegetables, can be a fantastic way to fill up without consuming too many calories. Opt for vegetable-based soups or those made with low-fat broth, and consider adding:
- Diced tomatoes: Low in calories yet packed with flavor.
- Mushrooms: With a meaty texture and about 15 calories per cup, mushrooms add bulk and nutrients.
- Legumes: Beans and lentils are higher in calories than other ingredients but are nutrient-dense and can be included in moderation for added protein and fiber.
4. Whole Grains: Nutrient-Dense Alternatives
Whole grains are excellent sources of fiber and can help you feel fuller for longer. However, not all grains have the same caloric density, so it’s important to choose wisely:
- Popcorn: Air-popped popcorn is a weight-loss-friendly snack that provides around 30 calories per cup. It’s a whole grain and can be seasoned lightly for added flavor.
- Oats: Rolled or steel-cut oats can be filling and provide fiber, with around 150 calories per half-cup dry. Add fruits for a sweet breakfast that keeps you satisfied.
- Quinoa: This high-protein grain is nutritious and filling, containing about 222 calories per cooked cup. Use it as a base for salads or bowls with lots of veggies.
5. Lean Proteins: Keeping You Satisfied
While high volume foods are mainly plant-based, incorporating lean proteins can enhance satiety. Focus on options like:
- Chicken breast: A lean source of protein, providing about 165 calories per 3.5 oz cooked, that can enhance dishes filled with vegetables.
- Tofu: A great plant-based protein, with around 70 calories per 3 oz, tofu can absorb flavors and bulk up meals without adding excessive calories.
- Greek yogurt: Non-fat or low-fat Greek yogurt has about 100 calories per 6 oz serving and offers a creamy texture along with protein.
Conclusion: Fill Your Plate Wisely
If you’re looking to lose weight, focusing on high volume foods can make the process easier and more enjoyable. By incorporating a variety of vegetables, fruits, soups, whole grains, and lean proteins into your diet, you can keep hunger at bay while still cutting down on calories. Remember, the goal is not just to eat less but to eat wisely. Load up your plate with these nutrient-dense foods, and you’ll be on your way to a healthier, happier you!

I’m listening to your forearms
I don’t think volume eating works, I’ll explain why. Lettuce makes your stomach full as in the volume itself but the feeling of fullness is there. However, you’ll be hungry one hour later or 30 mins later Bc there was no protein, barely fiber, or healthy fats to keep the sense of fullness for longer throughout the day. You’ll just be even hungrier and more stressed during your deficit. It’s important to eat foods that are low cal, high protein, and high fiber, and also focus on foods that are less refined and processed(Whole Foods). Also giving up carbs and sweets is very bad. This ruin weight loss Bc it’s water weight and muscle weight but not actual fat loss. also carbs are needed to fuel the body throughout the day. My take is to focus on protein and fiber and balanced variety of nutrients and healthy fats (yes important for women hormones)

🗣️SIRRRR. . . imma say the quiet part out loud. . . I’d rather do the 5 bite diet & & take 5 bites of whatever I please because I can eat every thing on this short 10 times in one day & & STILL be hella hungry . . . 😒
chilli is my go-to. SO easy to make low calorie and keto!
You can never be in a "calorie deficit" as it is not possible to consume calories. You utter clueless clown 🤡
Salted or sweet popcorn??
Where's the meat?! This junk will have you looking like a teenage boy and you'll still be hungry in like 15 minutes. Eat meat, cut out all the garbage carbs, and you'll lose weight, look great and be healthier as well.
how do i make low calorie popcorn at home?
Anybody can reply to this, but I’m curious if you are wanting to lose just your fat in general, wouldn’t you guys say that your sugar intake has a big deal to do with what goes on not just calories though but how your body deals with sugar, digestion, or usage, I guess???
I do skinny popcorn and you get that amount for 150 calories
Popcorn is not good for you, even plain. the rest are fine
We all eat that…and yet some of us are still DAMN FAT!
2:14 words can’t express how much I love this entire scene T_T
Don't swear.
Lesser Evil butter flavored popcorn is my absolute favorite, 120cal for 3 cups and it actually tastes buttery like movie theater popcorn! Whoever engineered that one is a genius
Just eat 500 cal worth popcorn
Cut out carbs. All carbs. All plants, and the fat will literally burn when your body adapts. It's insane. 👀
" Ew "
Inb4 we eat all five and get bloated and enter a food coma. 😢
What’s stupid is for year and half I ate like this minus the salad and veggies being a side and only lost like 30 lbs with exercise
Eat meat
